Authorized Non-Profit Organization Japan Animal Trust (JAT)

About JAT:
JAT is an authorized non-profit organization for animal-lovers.
JAT, which started its activity in 1976, was authorized by Osaka Prefecture (5/6/2000) and also by the National Tax Agency (26/1/2004).

JAT has been an asylum for animals, and one of the most active and the
largest humane organization in Japan.

Our policy is

"We believe the weight of all living creatures is equal."

We would like to form an alliance, partnership, or cooperative relationship
with foreign organizations. Please feel free to contact us!

Our goal is to find permanent, loving homes for all animals entrusted into our care.
We do not want these animals experiencing homelessness again, and thus we
take our responsibility seriously when we evaluate potential new homes.

We want you to be happy with the companion you choose, and we want to see
each of the animals, which we care for, go to loving homes.

The whole family should be involved in the decision making process and it
may require several visits to find the right friend for you.

Our shelter staff will work with you and can tell you about any special needs
which a dog or a cat may have.

To help you find an ideal animal companion, we need to get to know about you:
your living situation, your experience with companion animals and your
expectations for assuming the responsibility of a new companion.

This information will help us find the right animal for you.

When you select your new friend, we ask you to fill out and to sign an
adoption agreement and application, including references. Please read our
adoption agreement carefully. It is important that you understand our policies.

Adopting an animal from a shelter is an act of love that will be repaid many
times over. See us soon and let us help you find a friend for life!
